Grants to Wisconsin nonprofits, agencies, citizen groups, and individuals for programs that will improve the quality of life for the residents of Portage and Waushara Counties. Funding is intended to enhance education, help people, contribute to wellness, enrich arts and culture, and improve the environment.

Each grant request will be evaluated based on the following:

- Relevancy to the Mission Statement of the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin
- Potential benefit to the citizens of Portage and Waushara Counties
- Identification of a clear need
- Capacity of the organization or individual to carry out the Grant Request
- Demonstrated collaboration within Portage and Waushara Counties
- Demonstrated need for resources from the Community Foundation vs. other available resources

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin normally grants on a yearly cycle; however, if you have a request that would be considered an emergency outside of this timeframe, you have the opportunity to apply with an emergency grant application. To apply for an emergency grant, your need must meet the following definition:

"An emergency is a situation that poses an immediate risk to health, life, property, or the environment, or one that has a high probability of escalating to cause an immediate danger to life, health, property, or the environment. Emergencies require timely intervention to prevent a worsening of the situation."

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications will be considered from:

-Nonprofit agencies, organizations or governmental entities that are state and federal tax exempt.

-Established citizen committees, groups or individuals wishing to complete a community program or project for the benefit of the general public of Portage and Waushara Counties.

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin does NOT generally fund:
-Annual fund drives, capital campaigns, or general solicitation requests
-Establishment of, or contribution to, endowment funds
-Requests for emergency funding or other financial shortfalls
-Debt retirement
-Lobbying / political

In reviewing applications, the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin will operate without discrimination as to age, race, sex, religion, or national origin and will award grants only to agencies, organizations and individuals that do not discriminate as to age, race, sex, religion or national origin.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant Applications are due by August 15, 2018, at midnight. Applicants will be notified after the October board meeting of the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin with final grant decisions.

Emergency grants may be applied for outside of the normal annual grant cycle, as long as the need meets the Foundation's definition of an emergency (see Description). Emergency grants are not applied for via the online portal, but rather, through a separate application - see Supporting Documents below.
