Grants to USA, Canada, and International investigators affiliated with zoos, nonprofits, conservation organizations, and academic institutions for research to benefit animals and wildlife habitats. Funding is intended to preserve and protect the natural habitat or wildlife through research that expands conservation impact, shares knowledge, and engages local communities. Applications are considered for projects located in the USA or internationally.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Awards may be made in any amount; however, award recipients are typically in the range of $3,000 - $10,000 per year.

Term of Contract:

For 2021, only projects one or two years in length are being considered.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The principal investigator must be associated with a recognized institution (accredited zoo, academic institution, conservation, or nonprofit organization).

Projects may be based in the United States or internationally.

Applications for exhibit development/graphics for zoos will not be considered.

Pre-Application Information:

Electronically submitted applications must be received no later than June 1, 2021. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

All applications must be submitted via the Google Forms link below.

Awards are generally announced in August of each year.

Proposals must be submitted in English.
