Grants starting at $5,000 to California visual artists residing in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, or Nevada Counties to support the creation of work that will advance the artist's career and contribute to the region's civic and cultural quality of life. This fund will support professional artists financially so that they might have the opportunity to devote their time to creating and developing their work.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Artists may be at any stage of their development, from emerging to mature. They must be professional artists with a demonstrated commitment to their art, defined as follows: adults who have received training in an artistic discipline or tradition (or the equivalent) and/or devote 20 or more hours a week to their artwork, and try to earn income from their work.

Eligible applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

-Live in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, or Nevada Counties.

-Not be enrolled in any undergraduate or graduate degree-seeking program at the time of application.

-Submit a complete application package on or before the application deadline. All disciplines within the category of visual fine art are eligible.

Applicants must submit the following information:

-Contact Information.
-CV/Bio/Artist’s Statement that describes your professional artistic and educational background, and a little about your work.
-A brief description about how the funds would be used.
-Evidence of work created:
--10-20 digital images, compiled in a single document in PDF format.
--An annotated image list, which includes title, medium, dimensions, and date completed in PDF format.

Hand delivered applications will also be accepted. Materials will not be returned.

Grantees will be notified following the panel review and will receive the award upon receipt of the signed grant agreement and completed Form W-9. A final narrative report, detailing where the funds were expended, will be required 30 days after the end of the 12-month grant period.
