Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Greater Fredericton Region, New Brunswick nonprofit organizations, athletic associations, schools, and municipalities for nutrition programs serving hungry school-age children. Applications are invited for programs and projects that demonstrate the greatest potential to address overall community needs.

The Foundation seeks proposals that will provide a model methodology for feeding hungry students, with dignity.

Through these grants, organizations in the community will have funding to develop creative and impactful solutions to the dilemma of student hunger. The Foundation is looking for applicants with fresh ideas and solutions to the problem of hunger.

Grants will address one or more of the following criteria:
-The Foundation seeks proposals that bring value to existing community resources by leveraging unusually creative and impactful partnerships.
-The Foundation will place a premium on proposals with strong program design, implementation and evaluation. Proposals should be linked to an evidenced-based logic model.
-The Foundation believes in consumer choice and self-determination of program participants. The Foundation will place a premium on proposals that engage, inspire and empower program participants at every step of the journey.

The award pool will be divided among several grant recipients.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The following types of organizations will be deemed eligible for a grant from the Fredericton Community Foundation:
-A registered Canadian charity.
-A registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association.
-A municipality in the Greater Fredericton Area.
-Her Majesty in right of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick and agents thereof (Federal and Provincial Government and Agencies) eg. Schools.

The following types of organizations and activities will be deemed ineligible for a grant from the Fredericton Community Foundation:
-Non-registered charitable institutions unless supported by a qualified organization described above.
-Organizations that are profit orientated.
-Activities that are political or religious in nature (this does not preclude religious organizations from applying if they are delivering a service to the community that is not religious or faith based).
-Organizations not located or operating within the Greater Fredericton area.
-Individuals, unless the request is deemed unique and unusual and then only through an organization as described above.
-Annual Fund Drives.
-Core operating expenses of Organizations, unless it is critical to mission delivery
-Deficit Financing
