Grant Description
Grants of up to $5,000 to Nebraska organizations in eligible locations to improve the quality of life for local communities. Funding is intended to support projects related to crime prevention, increasing public safety, improving the physical appearance and environment of local neighborhoods, and increasing neighborhood capacity and livability. Successful grant proposals will have a sustained positive impact on Omaha’s neighborhoods.


Additional Eligibility Criteria
- Neighborhood organizations must be registered and listed in the City of Omaha’s Neighborhood Association Directory: by Wednesday, March 9, 2023.
- Organizations must have a valid Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). Applicants must submit an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) W-9 form with their application. If an organization is using a fiscal agent, a W-9 must be completed by the fiscal agent and submitted with the application.

Organizations having an outstanding final program report are not eligible to apply for 2023 funding.

Unallowable costs include but are not limited to:
• Weapons and high-tech alarms
• Recording Equipment
• Decorative and/or way-finding signs
• Bounce houses
• Personnel (Volunteer or Staff Salaries)
• Tablets or IPads
• Food and Beverages
• Gift Cards or Stipends

Pre-Application Information
- January 24, 2022: Release of 2022 Mayor’s Neighborhood Grants application
- Monday, March 14, 2022 by 4:00 PM: 2022 Mayor’s Neighborhood Grants application deadline
- May 2022: 2022 Mayor’s Neighborhood Grants Award notifications

Estimated Size of Grant
Grants are available for up to $5,000.

Term of Contract
All grant funds must be expended by December 31, 2023.
