Grants of up to $5,000 and a grant of up to $75,000 to Minnesota nonprofit youth programs and organizations in eligible regions for programs and projects that promote youth enrichment. Priority is given to requests for specific program funding or capital equipment. Funding is intended for the following school districts: Winona, Lewiston-Altura, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau, and Cochrane-Fountain City School Districts.
Funding awards are evaluated on a competitive basis considering need, fiscal viability, and benefits to youth development.
Revenues from past events were used to fund the Winona High School Nordic Ski program, baseball, orchestra, marching band and AP English programs, Cotter High School Canoe Club, softball fields, marching band, and H.O.T. math programs. Bluffview Montessori has benefited from funding for iPads and the Winona Area Catholic schools STEM program has received funding. Other recent organizations who have received financial support include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Winona Family YMCA, Junior Achievement, Winona Park and Recreation Department, and Home and Community Options.
