Fellowships of $12,500 to Manitoba, Canada visual artists and curators for a three-month residency at a studio and project space in Brooklyn, New York. Selection is based on the potential impact of the residency on the applicant, the applicant’s past accomplishments, artistic merit, and preparedness to undertake the residency.

The residency will take place at the International Studio and Curatorial Program.

Program goals are as follows:

- Provide an opportunity for Manitoba’s visual artists and curators to participate in an international residency
- Enable the artist to take part in the programming and professional development offered by the ISCP
(in-house community of artists and curators, international connections, professional conversations and critiques, visiting critics, field trips, salons and open studios, community engagement in Brooklyn and Greater New York City through public programming )
- Introduce New York audiences to the visual artistic practices of Manitoba artists and curators

Occupancy begins April 1 and expires midnight June 30, 2017.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Brooklyn Residency is open to Manitoba’s visual artists and curators. This grant can be held concurrently with another Manitoba Arts Council grant.

Individuals must be:
- Professional artists
- Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada
- Residents of Manitoba

Visual artists or curators may apply for projects related to work currently in progress and/or for new work.

Pre-Application Information:

Since the deadline of October 15 falls on a weekend, the deadline has been moved to Monday, October 17, 2016.

All applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the program consultant to discuss eligibility.
