Grant Description
Award of $200 to a Louisiana individual or group to recognize outstanding efforts in promoting intellectual freedom. Nominees will be judged according to actions taking place within the past five years. The awardee will be selected according to the following criteria:

-The role they have played in actively promoting intellectual freedom in their sphere of influence and beyond

-The degree to which they exemplify the spirit of intellectual freedom

-The impact which their efforts to promote intellectual freedom have made

The award includes $200 and a plaque; registration to the conference and a meal (lunch or dinner) on the day of the awards ceremony for the award recipient.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Prerequisites:
-Must be a person or group who/which is actively promoting intellectual freedom in Louisiana.
-Activities within the past five years are eligible for consideration.
-Nominations for the award may be made by anyone in Louisiana, including an individual who wants to nominate herself or himself.

Nominations must be submitted January 16 of the award year.
