Grants to Washburn, Wisconsin nonprofits, for-profits, and individuals to support innovative and creative opportunities for K-12 children and youth. Applications are invited for projects that promote creative thinking, innovative ideas, scholarship, teaching, professional development, the development of talents or intellect, learning outside of the classroom, and community involvement.

Grants must target students and residents of the Washburn School District.

The Washburn Community Education Foundation solicits proposals for innovative learning experiences that address the goals of the foundation.

Foundation goals:
-Encourage innovative learning opportunities in the school and in the community
-Foster creativity in teaching and scholarship
-Help students develop special talents and intellectual gifts
-Provide opportunities for teachers to pursue professional development in their field of instruction
-Create diversity in teaching strategies
-Increase opportunities for learning experiences outside the traditional classroom
-Involve the community with the educational process.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants range from $50 - $2,000.

WCEF is currently entertaining grant applications for projects above the $2,000 limit. These projects should be of significant importance to the community. It should be an exciting, one-time project that provides important, unique, and new opportunities for learning in the Washburn service area.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

This program accepts grants from any person or organization as long as those grants fit the mission. A grant needs to impact students in the Washburn community. Successful grant recipients include individuals, nonprofits, and businesses.

Projects normally funded or have funding from the Washburn School District may not be considered for this grant.

Pre-Application Information:

WCEF encourages you to reach out to board members before you apply if requesting more than $2,000.

Applications are accepted between March 1 - May 15.

The applicant will receive an email response within two days if the application has been successfully received.

The applicant can expect grant acceptance notification by June 15.
