Grants of up to $1,000 to Ontario youth and groups of youth for projects that benefit the community in eligible counties. Eligible applicants are teen and young adult leaders between the ages of 14 and 24. Projects and programs must be led by youth and offer creative ideas to address youth community issues in Perth and Huron Counties.

United Way Perth-Huron is looking for:

  • New projects 
  • Projects that aim to improve the lives of youth and/or the community.
  • Projects with youth working together.
  • Projects that tell others about youth issues and concerns.

Project ideas include events, workshops, guest speakers, multi-media presentations, musical acts, skills development, collective brainstorming, panel discussions of tough topics, etc. 

Applicants must have a project:

  • A youth team plan and implement.
  • Helps other youth and gets them involved.
  • Is legal and safe.
  • Is open, unbiased, and accessible to ALL youth.

Eligible Uses of Funds:

  • Direct programming (resources, guest speakers, thank you gifts, non-cash prizes)
  • Project materials (printing, photocopying, food, promotional)
  • Equipment (short term rental) and facility rentals

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Youth and/or groups of youth between the ages of 14 and 24 are invited to submit an application in partnership with an adult trustee (25+).

Ineligible Uses of Funds:
- Cash Prizes
- Staff salaries, benefits, and administrative costs
- Office space rental
- Fundraising projects
- Funding for individual or team travel
- Projects that are not run primarily by youth

Pre-Application Information:

Application deadline October 9 2021.

Please note that funding decisions will not be made until November and funding will be released in November/December 2021. Therefore, please plan your project to occur between January – May 2022.
