Grants of up to $10,000 to Winnipeg, Manitoba registered charitable organizations for programs that provide nutritious food and nutrition education to children and youth. Eligible applicants include early childhood education centers, after-school programs, drop-in centers, community centers, and family resource centers. Projects must primarily benefit children and youth from economically disadvantaged communities in Winnipeg.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The maximum grant request for this program is $10,000 and may include: food purchases, equipment (up to $3,000), and nutrition education and training (up to $1,000).

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

An organization must have a registered charitable number from Canada Revenue Agency to apply for a Nourishing Potential Grant. (This number is required to access the online application form.)

Projects must primarily benefit children and youth from economically disadvantaged communities in Winnipeg.

School divisions and individual schools are not eligible for this grant program.

Pre-Application Information:

Application due dates
- June 15th, 4:30 PM (notification of the decision in September)
- December 15th, 4:30 PM (notification of the decision in March)

If an application date falls on a weekend or holiday, applications will be accepted until 4:30 PM the next business day.

Applicants may apply for a Nourishing Potential Grant once per calendar year. Organizations may apply for a Community Grant, or any other special program grant, in the same year, but the applications must be for different projects.
