Grants of up to $2,000 to North Carolina artists to foster community activities in eligible locations. Funding is intended to encourage artist-led projects and programs in the visual arts, performing arts/film, and literary arts. Special consideration will be given to projects that provide equitable access to the arts and address the immediate needs for art space. All applicants must reside in or carry out projects within Orange County.

The purpose of this program is to support artist-led and artist-created projects for the community; this could include public art, support of arts spaces, or exhibits/performances accessible to the greater community.

Again in this year’s grant cycle, the Fund will be particularly mindful of projects that align with the current needs of the local arts community, outlined in the 2019 report, Setting the Stage ( Except for a few rare occasions, the panel prefers to fund new, innovative projects each year rather than the same project multiple times.

Artist Project Grant funds may be used for expenditures to conduct quality arts programs for the benefit of the greater community. Typical uses of money include artist payments, space rental, advertising, marketing and publicity, website and electronic media, scripts, costumes, sets, props, supplies, equipment rental or purchase.
