Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $25,000 to USA nonprofits in the Northeast to support innovative initiatives in medical research, education, and the arts. Applicants must submit a preliminary application well in advance of the deadline. Priority is given to projects that will make a significant difference, that will result in a lasting, tangible result, and that can be accomplished within a reasonable period of time.

Eligible states include Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York City, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The Foundation seeks to encourage innovation and recognizes that this may involve risk.

The Foundation also hopes its grant awards may act as a lever to attract matching funds from other sources that may not otherwise be forthcoming.

The Foundation only makes grants to organizations as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code limited to organizations based in the Northeast. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals or organizations classified as a private foundation.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant applications are considered by the Trustees of the Foundation semi-annually, generally in February and August.

Applications submitted between January 1 and June 30 will be considered at the August/September meeting.

The application is a two-stage process. Applicants must first submit a Preliminary Application. Final Applications are by invitation only.
