Grants of up to $5,000 to Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations in eligible areas for programs to increase access to arts and cultural experiences for underserved residents. Funding is intended to boost the impact of expanded arts programming in local communities. Priority will be given to programs that increase arts engagement and access among diverse audiences, underserved, and/or economically disadvantaged communities. Nonprofits should serve the counties of Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, and the Dillsburg Area of Northern York County and/or be located within 20 miles of center city Harrisburg.

The Arts for All Partnership is most interested in proposals that will increase access to the arts in the Capital Region through:

  • Free public performances for families
  • Ticket subsidy programs that fill houses
  • Innovative programs that engage and build young audiences
  • Educational outreach programs

Equipment may be requested if its acquisition would result in the achievement of a significant efficiency, is required to initiate a new program, or would greatly enhance an existing program.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The maximum grant award is $5,000. Grant awards typically range from $750-$3,000.

Term of Contract:

Proposed projects may take place at any time during the grant year beginning January 1, 2022, and ending December 31, 2022.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must either be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a nonprofit organization as recognized by the IRS as such, or have a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization act as a fiscal sponsor for the proposed project.

This grant opportunity does not fund:
- Advertising
- Capital campaigns
- Direct lobbying to influence legislation or funding appropriations
- Individuals
- National and statewide umbrella organizations that cannot demonstrate a local presence
- New staff positions without a substantial plan for sustainability
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Retroactive projects

Grant Timeline
- April 1, 2021: Application available.
- August 1, 2021: All application materials must be submitted through the online application system by 4:00 pm.
- Applicants will be notified of their status on or before December 1st, 2021.

This grant opportunity will not fund 100% of any project.

Applicants may request a draft review of their application materials by our Community Investment Team prior to submission. To submit a draft review, email all materials to be reviewed as an attachment. Draft review requests are limited to one review of each grant opportunity and submissions must be received at least two weeks prior to the application deadline.
