Walters Family Foundation
Grants to Metropolitan Portland, Oregon nonprofit organizations to meet the needs of local families, elderly, and youth, with a particular emphasis on those living in the Hillsboro area. The Foundation seeks to improve the lives of those less fortunate, with a particular interest in local community centers and public parks and recreation department programs.
In addition, the Foundation's efforts are aimed at programs which enable at-risk individuals and at-risk families to become productive and self-sufficient members of society, as well as contributing to the overall betterment of society.

The Foundation only distributes funds to organizations which qualify as public charities under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as amended.
The Foundation generally limits its funding to organizations located in the state of Oregon, with preference given to organizations within metropolitan Portland, particularly in the Hillsboro area.
The Foundation generally does not support endowments, annual or year-end appeals, general operating funds, or grants to individuals.
Requests are considered by the Board of Directors two times a year, at the Annual and Semi-Annual Board Meetings, generally held in February and August of each year.
Requests must be submitted by January 15 and July 15 of each year to be considered at the following meeting.
