Scholarships of up to $10,000 to Canada students in eligible regions to travel to Israel for educational purposes. Funding is intended for academic university coursework and career development for young adults. Applicants must demonstrate their involvement in the Jewish community. Candidates must be permanent residents of Montreal.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must be permanent residents of Montreal who have demonstrated academic excellence and agree to return to Montreal and participate in the Jewish community.

Financial need is not a factor in the academic-based scholarship process.

International students will not be considered for academic and competitive academic scholarships offered by JCF.

Pre-Application Information:

The scholarship application will be open from March 1st to May 1st, 2020.

Scholarship offers are made on a rolling basis following the May 1st deadline from June until September and are contingent on the family’s decision and/or when the committees meets to make its final decision.

Requirements:
- Completed application form
- Brief letter outlining reasons for wishing to attend university in Israel and career goals
- Record of involvement in Jewish community
- Letter of acceptance from an Israeli university
- Transcript of grades (CEGEP and/or university) and final midterm marks
- A minimum of 2 letters of recommendation from professors

Students may receive only one academic-based scholarship. The number of recipients varies each year depending on the applicant pool and available funding.

Students are officially notified through mail of any academic scholarship offer and will be invited to receive their scholarship from the respective Family’s at the annual Scholarship Award Event, which takes place in late September. All scholarship recipients are strongly encouraged to attend and to meet and thank the generous donors who created these scholarship funds.
