Grants to Texas nonprofit organizations, tribal and government agencies, and public school systems to benefit low- and moderate-income communities within the funding source’s Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio service regions. Program areas include community development, education, human services, arts and culture, civic engagement, and environment.

Consideration will be given to projects that promote strong, vibrant, and diverse communities.

Wells Fargo focuses giving in several areas:

Community Development:

Wells Fargo is committed to supporting and improving local communities. Wells Fargo makes grants to organizations and programs that:
-Help provide affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals
-Promote economic development by financing small businesses or small farms
-Provide job training for low and moderate income individuals
-Provide financial education and promote economic empowerment
-Help to revitalize low and moderate income communities

As part of its commitment to financial literacy Wells Fargo has developed Hands on Banking, a comprehensive modular curriculum targeting students that range in age from grade 4 through senior citizens. The program has been designed and developed by professional educators and is suitable for either classroom use or self-study. Lessons are aligned with Texas state education standards for grades 4 through 12.

Education:

Wells Fargo is committed to supporting programs that:
-Promote academic achievement for low- and moderate-income students with a priority emphasis on K-12
-Provide training for teachers and administrators working with low- and moderate-income students
-Encourage school partnerships with parents and guardians, the local community, and the business community

Wells Fargo also considers grants in the following areas:

Human Services:

Wells Fargo is committed to supporting social and human service organizations whose work chiefly benefits low- and moderate-income individuals.

Arts and Culture

Wells Fargo will consider requests from organizations that work to enhance community diversity through:
-Access to cultural experiences for low- and moderate-income individuals
-Availability of a broad array of artistic opportunities and venues that reflect the community’s diversity
-Educational programs

Civic Engagement:

Wells Fargo will consider requests from organizations that work to enhance a community’s quality of life through projects involving:
-Public policy
-Community beautification
-Civic leadership
-Citizen education
-Cultural diversity

Environment:

Wells Fargo will consider requests for programs that:
-Conserve natural resources
-Provide environmental education
-Support the transition to a sustainable environment

Wells Fargo makes contributions to organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, as well as qualified tribal and governmental agencies, including public school systems.

Please note that Wells Fargo is unable to consider grants for the following:
-Individuals
-Advertising
-Start-up funding for new organizations
-Political action committees, candidates, causes, and lobbying
-Endowment campaigns
-Video or film production
-Promotional items
-Labor activities
-Vehicles
-For-profit entities including small start-up businesses
-Travel, including student trips

Eligible Texas regions and counties:

-Austin and Surrounding Communities: Bandera, Bastrop, Bell, Burnet, Comal, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Llano, Travis, and Williamson Counties

-Dallas/Fort Worth: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, and Wise Counties

-Houston: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend , Galveston, Harris, and Montgomery Counties

-San Antonio and Surrounding Communities: Atascosa, Bexar, Comal, Gillespie, Guadalupe, and Wilson Counties

Grant requests may be submitted and are reviewed throughout the calendar year. All requests are reviewed locally. Please allow 90 days for a response to your request. In order to be considered for funding for the current year, applications should be submitted by September 30th.

For Austin and Surrounding Communities; Dallas/Ft. Worth; and San Antonio and Surrounding Communities: Wells Fargo often sponsors events, such as fundraising walks and community fairs, or purchases tables at such events. Wells Fargo will review these requests monthly, January - September. Please apply with a minimum of 90 days prior to the event for consideration. In order to be considered for funding, proceed with the online application.
