Grants to Washington nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and schools to benefit low- and moderate-income individuals and families in the areas of community development, education, human services, and arts and culture. Eligible counties include: Adams, Benton, Chelan, Clallam, Columbia, Cowlitz, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Grant, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lewis, Mason, Okanogan, Pacific, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Skamania, Snohomish, Spokane, Thurston, Wahkiakum, Whatcom, and Yakima.

Wells Fargo looks for projects that keep our communities strong, diverse, and vibrant.

Focus Areas:

Community Development - Wells Fargo supports the improvement of low- and moderate-income communities through programs that:

-Create and sustain affordable housing;
-Provide job training and workforce development; and
-Revitalize and stabilize communities.

Education - Wells Fargo supports K-12 institutions and related organizations that:

-Promote academic achievement for low to moderate income students with a focus on math, science and technology, and literacy, and
-Provide GED and ESL programs.

Note: Wells Fargo has developed Hands on Banking® / El Futuro en Tus Manos®, a comprehensive modular curriculum targeting age groups ranging from grade four to senior citizens.

Human Services - Wells Fargo is committed to supporting social and human service organizations whose work chiefly benefits low- and moderate-income individuals. These organizations may be involved in a variety of areas, including:

- Addressing critical needs such as hunger and homelessness;
- Giving access to community services; and
- Enabling and sustaining independence for individuals and families.

Arts and Culture - Wells Fargo also considers requests from organizations that help enhance a community's quality of life through arts, culture or civic projects, and other activities that provide diverse opportunities for a community’s residents.

Wells Fargo makes contributions to organizations with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the USA Internal Revenue Code, as well as qualified tribal and governmental agencies, including public school systems.

Please note that Wells Fargo is unable to consider grants for the following:

- Individuals
- For-profit entities, including start-up small businesses
- International organizations
- Political action committees, candidates, causes, and lobbying
- Labor, religious or fraternal groups
- Foundations, including community and family foundations and single-issue or cause-related foundations
- Equipment requests, including computer hardware or software
- Marketing activities
- Sports/athletic group activities
- Hospitals
- Vehicles requests
- Film or video projects, including documentaries
- Travel related expenses, including student trips or tours
- Promotional merchandise
- Capital campaigns

Please note that these grants are not for organizations located in Spokane County or Clark County.

In order to be considered for funding for the current year, applications will be accepted January 3 through September 30. Applications submitted between October 1 and December 31 will not be accepted.

Only one grant or sponsorship per calendar year per agency will be considered.

Please submit your request through the online application; requests sent via USA mail, email, by fax, or through a Wells Fargo team member will be returned.
