Grants to DeKalb County, Illinois nonprofit organizations for a broad range of charitable activities that benefit local residents. The Foundation will consider inquiries for programs in the areas of education, arts, and human services. The Foundation seeks to support innovative programs and promote volunteerism.

Foundation Objectives:
-Fund programs that will stimulate philanthropy and promote volunteerism
-Work with organizations who seek grants for innovative programs
-Give priority to programs that seek cooperation and participation from other agencies and organizations
-Serve in the community without discrimination on the basis of race, sex or religion
-Judge results by measurable benchmarks
-Fund enhancements in the arts, education and human services

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility Requirements:
-Be headquartered or have significant presence in DeKalb County, Illinois
-Have been operating for at least one year or capable of providing significant startup details
-Qualify as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
-Are registered as a nonprofit with the DeKalb County Community Foundation

No requests accepted for annual operating expenses, individuals, or organizations who attempt to influence specific legislation and political activities and/or candidates

Pre-Application Information:

Application and Letter of Inquiry Deadlines:
-October 15 - For Fall Grant Decisions
-April 15 - For Spring Grant Decisions

Applicants must submit a letter of inquiry.

The Foundation will send you an email that your application information and letter of inquiry has been received. If the Foundation wishes to learn more about your organization and funding request, it will contact you. If the Foundation concludes that funding for your organization is unavailable, it will notify you promptly.
