Grants to New Jersey nonprofits, for-profits, and public agencies in eligible locations for the prevention of child abuse. Funding is intended to support programs that assist at-risk families in crisis who may otherwise lack the resources to access support. Programs will help beneficiaries effectively cope with their children’s behavior with the goal of strengthening the family unit. Eligible applicants serve the residents of Morris County.

The primary target populations for this funding are families with children. This program must operate in compliance with the following specifications:

  • Coordinate a prevention and education programming model serving the entire family.
  • Screening and assessment methodology.
  • Case management with an emphasis on the child’s welfare.
  • Support services that may include home visits, transportation, day care, homemaker assistance, information and referral and other appropriate services.
  • Direct provision (of service) or the establishment of a referral services network to include the following services: evaluation, counseling, parenting skills training, supportive intervention, substance abuse treatment, self-help groups, programs for persons with physical and mental disabilities and other services, as appropriate.
  • Formal relationship with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP).
  • Procedure for identifying the criteria for accepting and terminating cases.
  • Hours of services for the program should facilitate service provision and accessibility. Alternate or non-traditional hours of services, as appropriate.

The sub-grant term is January 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021.

The County of Morris reserves the right to renew Subgrant agreements for the period of January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022, based upon annual program review and the availability of funding

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants for services must meet the following criteria:
- Be appropriately licensed and maintain the highest standards of quality care.
- Use service outcome measures and performance standards, as required.
- Demonstrate an ability to provide and/or refer individuals to a full continuum of care.

Applicants may select the following agency types on the application form:
- Voluntary
- For-Profit
- Not-for-Profit
- Faith Based
- Public

Applications are due by 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2020.

All questions must be received by Monday, July 27, 2020, at 12:00 pm and will be posted to the Morris County Human Services website.

Award of contracts will be made no later than December 31, 2020.
