Award to a USA individual to recognize exemplary contributions to clinical service, practice, or research in audiology and/or speech-language pathology. The service must have had a significant impact on those receiving it. The work must have been performed over a period of at least 20 years.
The award is symbolized by the presentation of a commemorative art object with a recognition plaque. The recipient of the 2017 Kleffner Award will be announced and recognized at the 2017 ASHA Convention in Los Angeles, California.
