Awards to Washington Individual art educators for excellence in art education and to students for outstanding accomplishments. Nominees for the teaching awards should have an extensive history of highly accomplished teaching; writing curriculum, standards, and assessments; mentoring new teachers; publishing articles; and providing enriching and engaging content for their students.
They should advocate by receiving grants, creating artwork outside of the classroom and supporting students in contests and exhibitions. They should lead within their schools; districts, professional, online communities and organizations.
Awards are available for Art Educator; Middle Level Art Educator; Secondary Art Educator; Higher Education Art Educator; Distinguished Service; Museum Educator; Supervisor or Administrator; Higher Education Student Achievement; and Rising Stars Secondary Recognition.
