Charlottesville Area Community Foundation - Ballyshannon Fund
Grants to Virginia nonprofit organizations and government agencies serving the Charlottesville area to support rural communities, environmental conservation, and rural and environmental education.
The Foundation supports projects and programs that address the following goals:
- Rural life and a respect for the outdoors and rural property owners;
- Creative means to appreciate, conserve, and maintain working farmland and professionally-managed timber land;
- Educational endeavors designed to encourage greater understanding of rural living, the ethos of commercial farming and timbering, and the responsible use of natural resources, including hunting and fishing.

Please note that in order to be eligible for Ballyshannon Fund funding, your organization must have 501(c)(3) status or be a government entity.
The Ballyshannon Fund does not support capital campaigns, endowments, individuals, or bricks and mortar projects.
The first step in the application process is to submit an LOI. Ballyshannon Fund will not accept unsolicited Grant Applications.
The Fund has a single application deadline each year, followed by a review period. Please submit your LOI by February 15, 2018.
