Grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 to Missouri nonprofit organizations, public school districts, and local government agencies to benefit rural communities in the Ozarks region. Funding may be used to support new programs, existing programs, or for general operating support.

Eligible program areas include:

- Animals
- Arts and Culture
- Beautification
- Community Development
- Diversity
- Early Childhood (0-5 years)
- Education
- Environment
- Health
- Human Services
- Senior Citizens
- Social Justice
- Youth (6-18 years)

Eligible organizations with regional service areas primarily outside of metropolitan Springfield and Greene County but within the CFO service area are encouraged to apply. This includes rural southern Missouri south of the Missouri River and outside the metro areas of St. Louis and Kansas City.

A $10,000 - $20,000 range is suggested for proposal consideration. Applications which request more than $20,000 will not be considered.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications must include a copy of the organization’s 501(c)3 confirmation letter. If your organization is a Missouri public school district or a Missouri government entity (city or county), no copy of the letter is necessary.

In awarding grants, the CFO will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status. As part of the grant process, all grantees will be required to affirm that, in providing services funded in whole or in part by a CFO grant, the grantee will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status either in its employment practices or in its policies and procedures concerning access to services.

Applicants which have received Coover Grant Program support in 2016, 2017, or 2018 are not eligible for the 2019 grant round.
