Grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 to Missouri organizations and agencies to address challenges and needs of residents of rural Ozarks communities. Grants may be awarded for new or existing programs, or for general operating support. Funding is intended to support collaborative, new, or innovative efforts in all subject areas supported by the Foundation.

Eligible organizations with regional service areas primarily outside of metropolitan Springfield and Greene County but within the CFO service area are encouraged to apply.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Suggested range for proposal consideration is $10,000-$20,000. Applications which request more than $20,000 will not be considered.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Foundation will award grants to agencies serving the Missouri Ozarks.

Eligible organizations with regional service areas primarily outside of metropolitan Springfield and Greene County but within the CFO service area are encouraged to apply. This includes rural southern Missouri south of the Missouri River and outside the metro areas of St. Louis and Kansas City.

Applicants which have received Coover Grant Program support in 2017, 2018, or 2019 are not eligible for the 2020 grant round.

In awarding grants, the CFO will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status. As part of the grant process, all grantees will be required to affirm that, in providing services funded in whole or in part by a CFO grant, the grantee will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status either in its employment practices or in its policies and procedures concerning access to services.

Applications will open Nov. 7, 2019. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on February 7, 2020.
