Grants of up to $30,000 to USA, Canada, and International filmmakers for projects that honor social change and progress around the world. Funding is intended to support documentary films already in production or post-production. Additional support will be provided in the form of advice and consulting to improve the film's marketability. Foreign language documentaries are eligible, but must be subtitled and suitable for an American audience.
The Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund will support projects that explore the biggest issues impacting Planet, People and Progress: highlight diversity, gender equality and active citizenship; celebrate the acts of courage, compassion and strength that are driving social and environmental change; showcase using innovation for good, including protecting the earth and advancing sustainability; and honor and salute women and diverse leaders who are making a difference.
Eligible films for the Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund challenge the status quo not just as it pertains to subject matter, but also in form. Funded films will be driven by thoughtful and in-depth storytelling, bolstered by a compelling visual approach. Films should also be able to exist on multiple distribution platforms and resonate with a wide audience.
