Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $5,000 to Maryland organizations, groups, and individuals in eligible locations for projects and programs in the areas of youth, social services, mental health issues, and senior citizens. Priority will be given to projects that include a social justice component. Applicants who provide services that assist underserved residents of the City of Bowie are also encouraged to apply. Grant applicants do not need to be City residents; however, programs should be conducted whenever possible within the incorporated City of Bowie, which has a greater likeliness of including City residents.

Priority consideration will be given to new projects and programs. Applicants are encouraged to start new programs, although existing programs will be considered.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all applications must follow local, county and state orders and provide details as to how the project will be executed virtually.

Pre-proposal Conference:

A Grant Application Clinic will be held virtually on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 6:30 PM. Please register for the clinic at https://www.cityofbowie.org/FormCenter/Community-Services-18/Community-Outreach-Grant-Application-Vir-123.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received via email no later than Monday, November 22, by 5 p.m.

If the Community Outreach Committee has questions regarding your grant you will be called, at the contact number provided on your application, during their review meeting on Thursday, December 2, 2021 between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m.

Funds cannot be expended prior to notification of grant award. Reimbursement and vendor payment requests must be submitted by May 31, 2022 to allow time for payments/reimbursements prior to the end of the fiscal year.
