Awards to USA and Canada psychologists, ages 65 years old and up, in recognition of a distinguished career and enduring contribution to the field of psychology. There are four categories for these awards, each recognizing a different aspect of contribution to the field.

Award Categories:

1. Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Science of Psychology: This award recognizes a distinguished career and enduring contribution to advancing psychological science.

2. Gold Medal for Life Achievement in the Application of Psychology: This award recognizes a distinguished career and enduring contribution to advancing the application of psychology through methods, research, and/or application of psychological techniques to important practical problems.

3. Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in Psychology in the Public Interest: This award recognizes a distinguished career and enduring contribution to the application of psychology in the public interest.

4. Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Practice of Psychology: This award recognizes a distinguished career and enduring contribution to advancing the professional practice of psychology through a demonstrable effect on patterns of service delivery in the profession. APF Gold Medalists receive a mounted gold medal; a waiver of convention registration fees; round trip airfare; and a travel stipend of $1,000 to attend the convention.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Psychologists who are typically 65 years or older, normally residing in North America are eligible.

APF encourages nominations for individuals who represent diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, and sexual orientation.
