Grant Description
Grants of up to $5,000 to USA community groups, working with the grantor, in the process of planning a nonprofit health clinic that will provide free primary care services to the under and uninsured. Funding is intended to assist the planning process and decrease the time needed to develop the clinic.

Volunteers in Medicine is the only national nonprofit dedicated to building a network of free primary health care clinics for the uninsured in local communities.

  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
  • Others (see text field entitled "Additional Eligibility Criteria" for clarification)

Additional Eligibility Criteria
- 501(c)(3) application underway (or clinic is a program of a non-profit organization)
- Actively engaged in community planning process by a structured organizing committee
- Project leadership engaged and accomplishing assigned tasks
- VIM consulting services agreement signed by both organizations
- Evidence of collaborative community relationships under development
- Documentation available for matching funds

Pre-Application Information
Applicants are required to match the requested amount.

Grant applications will be accepted from organizing groups with a signed Volunteers in Medicine consulting services agreement that meet the eligibility requirements.

Term of Contract
Final report due to VIM consultant no later than one year from the grant award.
