Grants to New Jersey nonprofit organizations in eligible counties for assistance to renters who are homeless or are in danger of becoming homeless due to circumstances outside their control. Funding is intended for rental arrears, legal fees, and relocation costs.
Applicants must service one or more of the following counties: Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Salem, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren Counties.
- Rental Arrears – Up to 3 months arrears plus any court fees, legal fees and other late fees included as rent in a written lease. These costs must be clearly defined in the court summons.
- Relocation: Security deposit of up to 1 ½ month’s rent and 2 full month’s rent
