Grants to Florida municipalities, county governments, and other local entities for public recreation projects. Funding is intended to support land acquisition for public outdoor recreational purposes, the development and rehabilitation of land for public outdoor recreational use, and for the renovation or construction of a public recreational trail.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The maximum grant request may not exceed $200,000.

Term of Contract:

Should the project receive funding, the grantee will have up to three (3) years from the start of the state’s fiscal year in which funds are appropriated to complete the project.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

All county governments and incorporated municipalities of the state of Florida and other legally constituted local governmental entities with the legal responsibility for the provision of outdoor recreational sites and facilities for the use and benefit of the general public.

Pre-Application Information:

FRDAP applications will be accepted beginning October 1, 2020. The last day to submit applications is October 15, 2020, by 11:59 PM.

Applications must involve only one project site except for acquisition or development of saltwater beach access.

Funds will be distributed on a reimbursement basis.

Grant Match Ratios (based on the grant cap of $200,000):
- For project costs of $50,000 or less: State share = 100%, grantee share = 0%
- For project costs of $50,001 to $150,000: State share = 75%, grantee share = 25%
- For project costs of $150,001 up to $400,000: State share = 50%, grantee share = 50%

Cash, Land Value of undeveloped land owned by the applicant (subject to conditions), and In-kind Services may be used as a match for a FRDAP grant.
