Grants to Chicago area, Illinois nonprofit organizations to provide quality cultural and educational programming. Funding is intended to strengthen and support charitable institutions in Chicago and the surrounding communities and to bring benefit to both current and future residents.

Term of Contract:

The majority of grants from the Montgomery Ward Foundation are one year in duration.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Charitable institutions that provide quality educational and cultural programming for the current and future residents of Chicago, Illinois and its surrounding communities may apply.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline dates are April 15 and October 15. Please submit online applications by 11:59 p.m. on the day of the foundation’s deadline date. If the application deadline date falls on a weekend or a federally recognized holiday, the Foundation does not extend the deadline, therefore applications must be submitted on the prior business day by 11:59 p.m.

Grant decisions for the April 15 deadline will be made by June 30. Grant decisions for the October 15 deadline will be made by December 31.
