Grants of up to $5,000 and grants starting at $5,000 to Indiana nonprofits that provide benefit to the residents of the Lawrenceburg community and Dearborn County. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance the local quality of life by advancing educational, cultural, and social opportunities while preserving the community's heritage.

Estimated Size of Grant:

- Phase I Grants: Grant applications requesting $5,000 or less will be accepted pursuant to the grant application deadlines. A total of $100,000 has been allocated for Phase I grant awards. Applications will be considered as long as funds are available.
- Phase II Grants: Grants requesting $5,001 – $100,000 will be accepted during the year pursuant to the grant application deadlines. Applications will be considered as long as funds are available.
- The maximum grant award allotted is $100,000 per organization per calendar year (combined Phase I & II).

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are awarded only to organizations:
- That are recognized as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under IRC section 501(c)(3) or under section 501(c)
- Whose programs benefit the residents of Dearborn County; and
- Which provide for a responsible fiscal agent and adequate accounting procedures.

If a tax-exempt organization is not a 501(c)(3), then the purpose of the grant request must be charitable as defined by the IRS. Grants awarded to non-501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations will be proportionate to the charitable purpose of the grant request.

Any school corporation or school sponsored organization wishing to apply for funding through any of the grant programs must first apply for funding through the school’s respective Endowment Corporation/Education Foundation. A letter from the Schools Endowment Corporation/Education Foundation with their decision must accompany the completed grant application.

Generally, grants are not made:
- To individuals, except for educational scholarships (which are paid to the educational institute for the benefit of the individual);
- Exclusively for endowment creation (with the exception of endowment matching programs);
- To fund travel expenses;
- To sustain ongoing programs/projects; and
- To fund salaried/contracted positions.

No grants are made:
- To support political parties, campaigns or issues;
- Specifically for sectarian religious purposes, but can be made to religious organizations for programs that benefit the general public;
- For debt reduction of recipient organization;
- For any property improvements (buildings, fencing etc. …) to land not owned by the organization seeking the grant funds; and
- To provide for programs, expenses, and/or equipment committed to prior to grant award date.

2018 Phase I Online Application Deadline Dates:
Must be submitted by 4:00 PM on the day listed:
- February 1, 2018
- April 2, 2018
- June 1, 2018
- August 1, 2018
- October 1, 2018

Phase II Grant applications requesting $5,001 – $100,000 will be accepted during the year pursuant to the grant application deadlines.

2018 Phase II Deadline Dates:
Must be submitted by 4:00 PM on the day listed:
- March 6, 2018
- June 5, 2018
- September 4, 2018

Grant applications will be considered as long as funds are available. The grant review process for some grant programs takes up to three months from the grant application due date. Applicants should plan accordingly when considering the date of the project and the date of the grant submission. Foundation staff will notify applicants, in writing, of grant decisions.
