Grants of up to $1,500 to Wisconsin nonprofit organizations and government agencies serving the residents of the cities of Green Lake, Markesan, Princeton, Berlin, and Ripon. The strongest proposals will offer new or proven approaches to serving the community and addressing emerging needs, or strengthen a nonprofit's ability to meet its mission.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants from the Fund are intended to benefit charitable organizations serving those living in the Cities of Green Lake, Markesan, Princeton, Berlin, and Ripon.

To comply with IRS regulations and national standards set by the Council on Foundations, organizations eligible to receive these grants are those determined by the IRS to be public charities. This encompasses most charitable, scientific, social service, educational, and religious organizations described in 501(c)(3) of the tax code, as well as government agencies. Organizations that are not public charities may apply through a fiscal sponsor.

Not Eligible:
- Debt reduction or retirement
- Reimbursement for previously incurred expenses
- Religious organizations for sacramental or theological purposes
- Political or lobbying activities

Grant application deadline: October 15, 2018
Grant decisions: Mid-December

Applicants may also be asked to provide additional supporting documentation after their application undergoes an initial review. Documentation might include a 501(c)(3) determination letter, Board of Directors list, organizational income statement or balance sheet, etc.
