Grants ranging from $100 to $800 to Charles County, Maryland elementary and secondary schools to strengthen, enhance, and promote the arts and arts learning. A mandatory workshop is scheduled for October 11. Funding may be used to provide hands-on intensive workshops or quality performances in schools by visiting artists, performers, authors, poets, master teachers, and professionals.

Program areas include music, visual art, drama, dance, and literature for the educational enhancement of youth.

Only one (1) AIE Grant per school is permitted. However, the grant can be awarded for a series of performances or workshops (e.g., the PTA, an art teacher and music teacher at one school can make a combined proposal for two or more performances/residencies).

Estimated Size of Grant:

You may request from $100 to $800 in support of your arts project/series.

Term of Contract:

The grant support period is November 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018.

All events must take place by May 10, 2018.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants support activities in Charles County’s elementary and secondary schools.

Pre-proposal Conference:

AIE Applicants are required to attend a mandatory Grant Workshop on Tuesday, October 11, from 7:00 – 8:00 PM, at the United Way House, 10250 La Plata Road, La Plata, MD 20646.

Pre-Application Information:

The CCAA cannot fund more than 50% of your total project expenses. You must be able to “match” your grant request at a minimum of a 1:1 ratio (dollar-for-dollar).

All AIE Grant Applications must be received by the CCAA no later than 12:00 PM noon, Friday, October 27, 2017.

All approved grant recipient organizations must have a designated representative attend the CCAA Annual Grantee Gala in order to receive their grant funding. This Gala will occur on November 18, 2017.

The annual grant round for CCAA Arts Grants follows the typical schedule below:
-August 15, 2017: Grant applications posted to CCAA website.
-October 11, 2017, 7:00 PM – Mandatory grant training for all AIE grant applicants
-October 27, 2017: All AIE grant applications due in the CCAA office by noon.
-November 4, 2017: CCAA Grant Committee meets and reviews all grant applications; makes final recommendations to CCAA Board.
-November 6, 2017: CCAA Board reviews/approves recommendations of Grant Committee; grant applicants notified of results.
-November 18, 2017: CCAA Grantees awarded grant checks at the CCAA Annual Grantee and Membership Gala.
-May 31, 2018 – AIE Grant Final Reports due.
