Grants ranging from $100 $500 and grants ranging from $100 to $800 to Charles County, Maryland public and private elementary and secondary schools to strengthen, enhance, and promote the arts and arts learning. Funding may be used to provide hands-on intensive workshops or quality performances in schools by visiting artists, performers, authors, poets, master teachers, and professionals. Program areas include music, visual art, drama, dance, and literature for the educational enhancement of youth.

Estimated Size of Grant:

For public schools:
- The total amount of AIE grant funding from the CCAA cannot exceed $500 for any school. Other AIE grant funding is available directly from the Maryland State Arts Council (
- You may request from $100 to $500 in support of your arts project/series; the CCAA cannot fund more than 50% of your total project expenses.

For Private and Parochial Schools:
- The total amount of AIE grant funding from the CCAA cannot exceed $800 for any school. Other AIE grant funding is available directly from the Maryland State Arts Council (
- You may request from $100 to $800 in support of your arts project/series; the CCAA cannot fund more than 50% of your total project expenses.

Term of Contract:

All events must take place by May 3, 2020.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Elementary and secondary schools may apply.

Pre-Application Information:

- August 2019: FY 2020 Grant applications posted to CCAA website.
- October 31, 2019 at 12:oo Noon: Deadline for the submission of AIE Grants.
- November 2, 2019: Notification letters and Grant Agreements sent out to all grant recipients.
- November 13, 2019: Deadline for all grant recipients to return signed Grant Agreements.
- November 16, 2019: CCAA Grantees awarded grant checks at the CCAA Annual Gala.
- 21 Days Following Completion of the Project: Final Grant Reports due from all CCAA grantees.

You must be able to “match” your grant request at a minimum of a 1:1 ratio (dollar-for-dollar).

Only one (1) AIE Grant per school is permitted. However, the grant can be awarded for a series of performances or workshops (e.g., the PTA, an art teacher and music teacher at one school can make a combined proposal for two or more performances or residencies).
