Grants of up to $5,000 to New York City nonprofit organizations and artists in eligible locations for local arts projects and programs involving community engagement. Applicants are required to attend an information session prior to submitting an application. Funding is intended for high-quality local performing, visual, literary, interdisciplinary, and multi-disciplinary arts projects that engage a diverse array of Brooklyn’s communities. Projects must be public and take place in Brooklyn.
Competitive applicants will demonstrate the ability to identify the community they strive to engage, articulate proposed methods of engagement, and provide a thoughtful assessment of anticipated outcomes.
Taking into account the specific goal of this program, panels recommend funding according to the following equally important criteria:
