Grants ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 to Twin Falls County, Idaho nonprofit organizations and government agencies to promote health and wellness in the region. Funding is intended for community need projects in the areas of health education, access to care, and underserved populations.

Funding priorities of the twin falls health initiatives trust:
- Access to care and affordability: For example, increases the availability of timely appointments
- Health education: For example, increases awareness of resources or disease prevention
- Economically disadvantaged populations: For example, sliding fee services based on income

In addition to the funding priorities, it is helpful if organizations can address one or more of the following important sub-categories as identified in community health needs assessments:
- Mental health
- Healthy weight, nutrition, and exercise
- Substance abuse
- Strengthening family wellness

Estimated Size of Grant:

Funding requests must be at least $2,000 & no more than $20,000; request only the amount your project needs.

Term of Contract:

The funding cycle is January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020. All funds must be spent by December 31, 2020.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible applicants:
- Applicants must be a government or nonprofit entity and the project must primarily serve TF County residents
- All EIN’s must have proper authorization by providing verifying signatures & contact information
- An annual financial statement, audit, or Form 990 must be submitted with your application
- Indicate financial/program stability, including evidence of other funding sources or matching funds
- Grant funding shall not be used to supplant any existing funding for programs in Twin Falls County
- Projects should maximize the investment for the community; demonstrate cost-benefit or cost avoidance
- Previous grantees are permitted to re-apply, but TFHIT does not guarantee projects are funded again
- Organizations may apply for multiple grants and/or a single EIN may be used to apply for multiple grants
- If applying for multiple grants it must be shown that each application is for a separate project
- Organizations may not apply for funds to cover Directors & Officers Insurance or to attend general conferences
- If unsure, contact TFHIT to verify if an item is allowed before submitting your application
- TFHIT funds are intended for use for direct services as much as possible; please refer to the specific instructions under the Budget Section for more guidance on this item, or ask TFHIT for clarification

Pre-proposal Conference:

TFHIT holds a free Grant Writing Workshop in early June of each year; this is open to the public and free of charge.

Tentative grant timelines:
- June 6-7 2019: Grant application released & grant workshop
- Sept 2019 at 5:00 PM: deadline for grant submission
- November 2019: Grant funding notifications
- December 2019: Award ceremony
