Award to a Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont school-affiliated parent or community group to recognize outstanding support of their middle school. The purpose of this award is to honor a groups of individual that understands, values, and strengthens education for students in middle school.
Selection Criteria:
1) Understands and actively supports the development of young adolescents
2) Champions middle level education by:
-Recognizing middle level as a distinct entity of education
-Actively promoting middle level activities and programs
-Building community support
Those who receive an award will be recognized at the NELMS Annual Conference and in MidLines, (the NELMS newspaper), receive a two-day registration to the Annual Conference, and be featured on the web site.
The recipient will also be invited to present the award to the next year's award winner at the Annual Conference Welcome and Recognitions Reception.
