Grant Description

Grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to Keokuk County, Iowa nonprofit organizations and government agencies for charitable projects and programs that address the needs of area residents in areas such as, but not limited to, arts and culture, health, human services, community betterment, historic preservation, etc.

  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
  • Others (see text field entitled "Additional Eligibility Criteria" for clarification)

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility to Apply for Funding:
- Tax Exempt, nonprofit entities classified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) or a 170(c)(1) government agency
- If not 501(c)(3), must have an eligible fiscal sponsor who will be legally and financially responsible
- One application per organization
- Form E has been completed and returned to KCCEF for the previous year’s grant awards.

Please Note: Organizations that are not 501(c)3 and require a sponsoring body to complete the application process must have that organization pass a resolution, declaring that the managing board has voted to accept that responsibility. A copy of a sample resolution is available below.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grant request minimum is $500, and the maximum is $5,000.

Term of Contract:

While all granted projects are expected to be completed by the last business day of October of the year the grant is received, the KCCEF board realizes that circumstances outside the control of the organization's project director do occasionally occur.
