Grant Description
Grants to North Carolina nonprofit, governmental, religious, and educational organizations for projects and programs that enhance eligible communities. Funding is intended to address local needs and strengthen the community. Priority will be given to proposals in the following areas of focus: education, food, agriculture, and nutrition, health care, housing and shelter, human services, mental health and crisis intervention, and youth development. Projects must serve the residents of Cabarrus County.

The Foundation will prioritize proposals requesting one-time funding to initiate projects and programs and will consider requests enabling the grantee to seek grant support from other funders.

Projects and programs which clearly demonstrate their ability to attain measurable results will receive higher consideration. The most competitive proposals will clearly demonstrate collaboration and partnership with other organizations to increase impact and identify how funding will be sustained in future years.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, congregations, governmental and educational institutions. Projects must serve the residents of Cabarrus County, NC. If the organization conducting the project is not an eligible organization, a grant can be applied for under the fiscal sponsorship of an eligible organization.

Churches that do not have 501(c)(3) public charity status may still qualify as eligible charities. The eligibility of churches to receive FFTC grant funds is determined using the guidance provided in IRS Publication 1828.
