Grants of up to $10,000 to South Carolina nonprofit organizations, governmental institutions, congregations, and educational institutions to improve the lives of residents in eligible locations. Focus areas include education, health, arts and culture, environment, and human services. Projects must serve the residents of York County.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Award amounts will be determined based on the merits of the project and the Foundation's available funds. Previous awards have ranged from $500 to $5,000, but the Board will consider awards up to $10,000.

Term of Contract:

Grants are one year in duration.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, congregations, governmental and educational institutions. Projects must serve the residents of York County, SC. If the organization conducting the project is not an eligible organization, a grant can be applied for under the fiscal sponsorship of an eligible organization.

Please note, the following areas are typically not funded:
- Capital campaign requests
- Debt retirement/deficit funding
- Direct support of individuals (e.g., scholarships, hardship)
- Duplication of existing programs or services
- Endowment funds
- Expenses incurred prior to grant award decisions
- General operating support
- Publication of books
- Projects that are typically the funding responsibility of federal, state, or local government
- Sponsorships or fundraisers
- Travel and conferences

Please note, the following areas are ineligible for funding:
- Projects that promote political or religious views
- Political or lobbying activities

Pre-Application Information:

Completed applications must be submitted online by noon on Friday, April 2, 2021. The online grant application closes promptly at 12:00p.m. and will not accept any late submissions.

Award and decline notifications will be made via e-mail in June.
