Grants of up to $10,000 to South Carolina nonprofit organizations, governmental institutions, congregations, and educational institutions in eligible locations to improve the lives of residents. Funding is intended for projects and programs in the following focus areas: education, health, arts and culture, environment, and human services. Projects must serve the residents of York County.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Award amounts will be determined based on the merits of the project and the Foundation's available funds. Previous awards have ranged from $500 to $5,000, but the Board will consider requests up to $10,000.

Term of Contract:

Grants are one year in duration.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, congregations, governmental and educational institutions. If the organization conducting the project is not an eligible organization, a grant can be applied for under the fiscal sponsorship of an eligible organization.

The following areas are typically not funded:
- Capital campaign requests
- Debt retirement/deficit funding
- Direct support of individuals (e.g., scholarships, hardship)
- Duplication of existing programs or services
- Endowment funds
- Expenses incurred prior to grant award decisions
- General operating support
- Publication of books
- Projects that are typically the funding responsibility of federal, state, or local government
- Sponsorships or fundraisers
- Travel and conferences

The following areas are ineligible for funding:
- Projects that promote political or religious views
- Political or lobbying activities

March 7 - April 1

Award and decline notifications will be made via e-mail in June.

FFTC only accepts applications via the online portal. Paper applications are not accepted. The portal allows for saving the application and returning later to complete and submit. All applications are due at 12 p.m. (Noon) EST on the designated date.
