Awards to USA, Canada, and International scientists for outstanding achievements in the sciences. Awards will recognize significant breakthroughs and innovations, and visionary work influencing the development of each discipline. Researchers in the fields of history, medicine, environmental sciences, biophysics and biochemistry, and cognitive science may be nominated.
There are five Heineken Prizes for Sciences:

Heineken Prize for Medicine
The Dr. A.H. The C.L. de Carvalho-Heineken Prize for Cognitive Sciences is awarded to a distinguished researcher in cognitive science.
