Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 to Calgary, Alberta public schools and nonprofit organizations for innovative education programs for elementary and secondary students. Funding is intended to encourage children to excel in learning and enrich their learning experiences.

Priorities:

  • Curriculum Enhancements: enriching the educational experience of each student
  • Exceptional and Special Needs: language barriers, complex learning needs, cultural needs, physical/medical disabilities, and mental health challenges can all impact learning
  • Financial and Basic Needs: family breakdown, hunger, illness, and unemployment – many students require additional support to succeed in the classroom
  • Career and Life Skills: With a balanced focus on career and life skills, educationmatters can give students the tools they need to become contributing global citizens

Support may be given to pilot programs, ongoing programs or one-time initiatives and an entire program or a key element of a program may receive funding. These programs should address our priorities and have a direct impact on Calgary Board of Education (CBE) students. Preference will be given to programs/initiatives that are sustainable and adapted to a very broad student population.

Certain training, fees, equipment, and supply costs may receive funding.

Grants are awarded based on available grant dollars and the program’s/project’s alignment with EducationMatters’ mission and mandate.
