Grant Description
Grants to Tennessee government agencies and nonprofit organizations to preserve historical records. Funding may be used for a wide range of costs related to preservation, including supplies, furniture, employee costs, contractor costs, digitization of collections, and registration fees for webinars from approved organizations.
Grant funds are available for the following:
Archival shelving units
Acid-free, lignin-free folders and boxes
Other necessary archival supplies or environmental monitoring devices
Contracted conservation treatments
Hiring part-time worker
Improving online access to collections through digitization
Registration fees for webinars from approved organizations
Others (see text field entitled "Additional Eligibility Criteria" for clarification)
Additional Eligibility Criteria
The 2022 Archives Development Grant will be available for the official county or municipal archives or a not-for-profit organization that has an official, legal authorization to maintain the records generated by a county or municipality to replace or purchase archival supplies to improve the storage conditions of archival collections, operations, or public accessibility.
Applicants must show the archives/preservation of records as a line item in the county budget and have an active Public Records Commission that has met at least twice during the county’s fiscal year.

- August 1, 2022: Application available
- September 9, 2022: Application deadline; Applications due by 4 pm (CST)
- October 3, 2022: ADP grant awards announced on or around this date
- February 17, 2023: Interim reports due by 4 pm (CST)
- May 31, 2023: ADP grant projects completed; spending of funds complete
- June 15, 2023: Final day to submit reimbursement requests
- June 30, 2023: Final reports due by 4 pm (CST) on or before June 30, 2023
- July 28, 2023: Title VI reporting due
