Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $1,000 to Illinois and Indiana childcare providers and early childhood educators in eligible counties for opportunities and activities that inspire a love of learning and reading in young children up to five years old and their families. The funding source's service area of Clark County in Illinois and Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties in Indiana are eligible.

The activities should center on a book(s), and every child should receive a copy for personal use. Parent/family activities should be included in the project. The parent(s)/family may be included in the event, or at the very least the applicant needs to provide details of how they will encourage literacy activities to be extended at home.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Applicants may apply for up to $1,000.

Term of Contract:

Activity may take place anytime between January 1, 2018 – May 31, 2018.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility is extended to the following programs within the UWWV service area of Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo counties in Indiana and Clark County in Illinois. (See link: http://www.uwwv.org/index.php/about-us/service-area.)
- Licensed child care centers or homes that currently participate in Paths to QUALITY or ExceleRate Illinois,
- Unlicensed registered ministries participating in Paths to QUALITY, ExceleRate Illinois or the Ministry Mentoring Project.k
- Pre-K programs associated with state accredited educational programs, and
- UWWV supported early childhood programs.

There will be a limit of one (1) award per license holder.
