Grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 to Bay Area, California small and mid-size dance, theater, and multidisciplinary arts nonprofit organizations that provide contemporary arts programming. LOIs are due by January 26, 2018. Priority is given to organizations in San Francisco and Oakland, although eligible organizations from Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Santa Clara counties can apply.
The New and Experimental Works Program (NEW), provides project support to organizations that:
-Exhibit a strong passion for and commitment to the San Francisco Bay Area performing arts community;
-Demonstrate a performance history in the San Francisco Bay Area;
-Support, produce and present Bay Area artists;
-Display artistic promise and vision;
-Bring vital performances and programs to the public.

$5,000 - $20,000; The grant amount requested may not exceed more than 50% of the organization’s total annual budget.
The grant period is July 1, 2018 – December 31, 2019. Performances must have production dates after July 1, 2018.
Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations or to 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsors. The majority of artists supported by the project must be based in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo or Santa Clara counties.
Applicant organizations must have at least a $10,000 annual budget.
The Foundation is unlikely to fund predominantly music-focused projects through the NEW Program, including musicals, operas and/or other musical performances.
-Direct assistance to individuals or individual sponsorships
-Capital campaign requests
-Nonprofit entities not located and operating primarily in the Bay Area (except for medical research)
-Sports, athletic events or league sponsorships
-Advertising or promotional sponsorships
-Deficits or retroactive funding

LOIs are due by 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on January 26, 2018.

Feburary 16 – March 9, 2018
Full proposals are due by 5 PM Pacific Standard Time on March 9, 2018.
The awards announcement will be in May 2018 and projects may begin after July 1, 2018.
