Grants to Hawaii nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, state and local government agencies, and school districts for a wide range of community service initiatives. A letter of intent is due November 30, 2016. Funding priorities include disaster relief, economic development, STEM education, environment, health, veterans, governor and mayor initiatives, rural and underserved communities, safety, evidence-based intervention, Encore programs, and programming that supports My Brother’s Keeper.

The project period is generally one year with a start date proposed by the applicant. The grant award covers a three-year project period unless otherwise specified.

Through the AmeriCorps Program Grant, agencies sponsor AmeriCorps members who serve to implement community service initiatives.

Eligible agencies include community-based nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, state and local government entities, and school districts.

Agencies that apply must be able to demonstrate the capacity to administer a federal program, have a detailed plan of action, strong connections to the community it is planning to serve, a real need for the proposed service within the community, and the ability to raise the required matching funds.

Deadline of Intent to Apply to HCNCS: November 30, 2016.

There will be a Clarification Period with HCNCS staff December 8, 2016 – January 18, 2017. You must have someone knowledgable about your application available during this time. Failure to respond to requests for additional information in a timely fashion will result in the removal of applications from consideration.
