Grants to Florida nonprofit organizations, government agencies, IHEs, and school districts to support arts and cultural programming. Funding is intended to support cultural activities throughout the state, including professional services, performances, events, exhibits, and educational programs.

General Program Support (GPS) funding is designed to support the general program activities of an organization that is realizing its stated mission and furthering the state's cultural objectives by:

  • Conducting, creating, producing, presenting, staging, or sponsoring cultural exhibits, performances, educational programs, or events or
  • Providing professional services as a State Service Organization or Local Arts Agency.

The Division offers four types of General Program Support:

  • Arts in Education program support for organizations that promote excellence in arts education;
  • Discipline-Based program support for cultural and artistic programming;
  • Local Arts Agency program support for designated Local Arts Agencies;
  • State Service Organization  program support for cultural organizations that meet the definition of State Service Organization.

Estimated Size of Grant:

General Program Support grants have a minimum request amount of $1,000 and a maximum request of $150,000 based on proposal type and funding category.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Not-for-profit cultural organizations, museums, and recurring cultural programs that meet the Basic Eligibility requirements are eligible to apply for General Program Support. The organization's mission must directly support arts and cultural programming.

To meet the legal status requirement, an applicant organization must be either a public entity or a Florida nonprofit, tax exempt corporation as of the application deadline.

For the purposes of this program, public or private pre-K-12 schools; libraries, civic organizations; parks, recreation, and leisure organizations; human service organizations; or other community service agencies do not meet the definition of arts or cultural organizations.

Applications must be submitted on or before June 1 at 5pm.
