Grants ranging from £500 to £50,000 to UK registered charities in England and Wales to support vulnerable people and provide quality youth opportunities. Eligible activities span a range of areas, including disabilities, care for the ill, care for the elderly, homeless, and activities for disadvantaged youth in rural and urban areas.
1) Support for Vulnerable People
The Support for Vulnerable People category encompasses organizations that help people with a wide variety of problems including: disability, care for the seriously ill, care for older people, deprivation, homelessness and poverty.
Grants might fund a salary or deliver a specific project. Grants may be made for capital projects provided that the application is for an identifiable element of the project.
2) Youth Opportunities
Youth Opportunities Grants are focused on disadvantaged young people, usually between the ages of 16 and 25, in rural and urban areas.
Grants might fund a salary or deliver a specific project. Grants may be made for capital projects provided that the application is for an identifiable element of the project.
Funding Streams:
1) Major Grants (£10,000 - £50,000)
Major grants are made for a specific purpose only and are given to well established, nationwide charities. Reasons to apply for a Major grant include funding salary costs or to deliver a specific project, including capital development projects.
Funding may be granted for up to three-year periods in certain circumstances, where there is evidence of an on-going need for charitable grant funding.
2) Minor Grants (£500 - £5,000)
These grants are for smaller, nationwide charities whose annual income does not exceed approximately £1 million. Minor grants can be used for general running or overhead costs of the charity.
