Grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 to New York City K-12 public and charter schools to create or expand local school gardens. Applicants must register with the Funding Source prior to applying. Funding is intended for gardens that are located in a variety of places, including schoolyards, classrooms, rooftops, and other locations in the community. Any educational growing space is eligible.

Grow to Learn helps schools to be healthy, active spaces, connecting students to the natural world. GTL believes gardens create community, bringing together diverse groups of people through a shared space. School gardens can be incredible tools for developing holistic programming, real world connections, and supporting students as they learn to empathize and collaborate, creating the next generation of responsive leaders.

Applicants registered as a GTL school garden may apply.

Any educational growing space is eligible for funding.

Who is eligible:
- DOE K-12 public and charter schools registered with Grow to Learn. Registration information must be updated within the last 12 months.
- New grantees.
- Expansion grantees

Schools that do not meet GTL Mini Grant eligibility requirements will not receive funding.

The next grant application will open on September 27, 2019 and close on October 30, 2019 at 11:59 pm. The application will be posted on the website on September 27th.

There will not be a Spring 2020 mini-grant this year.

Grow to Learn strongly recommends that applicants contact the office with questions well in advance of the deadline.
